As part of an efficiency project at the Israel Shipyards Port Company, it was decided to vacate the old inspection, which took a lot of operational space, and to make room for the dock.
However, to continue to provide maintenance for the shipyard's ships, a new facility (Syncrolift) was built for transporting and lifting ships for treatment and maintenance purposes.
The facility, which is the highlight of Israel's port infrastructure, is capable of lifting ships weighing up to 4,000 tons.
The length of the lifting facility is 130 meters, its width is 20 meters, and the depth of the seabed is 15 meters in relation to the platform.
The facility was inaugurated in 2019 as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations for the shipyards. The first ship launched on the facility was a missile ship built for the Honduran State Navy.
